Source: Kremlin prepares revision of Russian regions’ efficiency

MOSCOW, Dec 2 (PRIME) -- The Russian presidential administration is preparing to analyze the efficiency of regions, which will include an assessment of the economic situation, a high-ranking source of the Kremlin told reporters on Friday.

“The domestic policies department plans to rank regions to present to the president from the point of view of efficiency in the beginning of 2017,” the source said.

The authority will divide the regions into ones where the local authorities cope, where they fail to cope with arising issues and where the monitoring must continue. The assessment can result in dismissals if the president decides so, the source said.
